K.I.S LEARNER PROFILE

OUR LEARNER'S PROFILE

Kaitaia Intermediate School - Learner Profile

A Learner Profile is a way in which a school can communicate what a future oriented learner can look like. Our Kaitaia Intermediate Learner Profile describes the knowledge, skills and attitudes we hope to develop in our students during their two years at our kura.

Our hope is that our students will continue to develop in these areas as they move on to secondary education, tertiary education and into the workforce.

Our Learner Profile image encapsulates what our school community has identified as important for our tamariki during their time with us. The four main headings in the image, Whānaungatanga (Relationships) Manaakitanga (Respect) Ako (to teach and learn) and Moemoeā (to dream/to aspire to) signify the importance of developing the whole child. Within each of these aspects are the knowledge, skills and attitudes we believe are required by our learners to not only succeed in our kura, but to succeed in their chosen pathways once they leave us.

The waves/tides signify the journey the students are on as they develop in these areas.
